A dummy cover 19 is installed in a gear case body W fitted with a side plate 6 by storing mutually meshing driving gear 4 and driven gear in a recessed part 2A of a case 2. A motor 11 is connected to a shaft part 7 of the driving gear 4, and a tank is connected to a suction port 12, and a pressure adjusting valve is also connected to a delivery port 13, and running-in of the gear case body W is performed. At this time, delivery pressure of the delivery port 13 is increased and transmitted a pressure chamber 24 by a stepped piston 16 of the dummy cover 19, and the side plate 6 is pressed to a side surface part of the driving gear 4 and the driven gear. Thus, a side surface of the driving gear 4 and the driven gear and the side plate 6 can be excellently cut by increasing pressing force of the side plate 6.
