Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of vapor in a trochoid pump type gear pump.
CONSTITUTION: A plural number of pressure chambers 50 is formed between the outer rotor 33 and the inner rotor 34 of a trochoid type pump section. When these pressure chambers 50 are moved while being changed in volume, fuel is sucked in from an intake port 41, and it is discharged out of a discharge port 39. A pressure releasing passage 51 is opened between the discharge port 39 and the intake port 41 so as to be communicated directly with a fuel tank at the outside of a pump. This configuration thereby allows the pressure chamber 50a to be lowered in pressure before the pressure chamber 50a is communicated with the intake port 39. By this constitution, fuel under discharge pressure is brought into the intake port by means of the pressure chamber, compression and ebullition thereby take place while vapor is produced, so that trouble such as an reduction in discharge flow rate can be prevented.
