Abstract:
To prevent lubricant L supplied to a first bearing 9a from flowing back in a return hole 15, in a gear unit 1 for a railway vehicle in which a first bearing lid 10a having a first bearing mounting part 10a1 in which for a direction from a small gear 4 toward a drive source as one axis direction and an opposite direction as the other axis direction, a first bearing 9a for supporting a gear shaft 41 is internally fitted to a first side wall 31 of a gear box 4 on the one axis direction side, and a first lid body 10a2 surrounding the gear shaft 41 projecting from the first bearing mounting part 10a1 toward the one axis direction, is mounted; oil throwing members 13a, 13b constituting a labyrinth seal in the first lid body 102 are externally fitted to the gear shaft 41; and the return hole 15 having a return hole 15a is formed at the lower part of the first bearing mounting part 101.SOLUTION: A backflow prevention plate 16 is externally fitted onto a gear shaft 41 between a small gear 4 and a first bearing 9a, and an outer diameter l1 of the backflow prevention plate 16 is longer than a distance l2 from an axial core 41c of the gear shaft 41 to a lower end of a return port 15a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
