This gel composition contains a quaternary ammonium salt represented by formula (1) and a compound represented by formula (2) as a gelling agent, wherein (a) R1-R4 in formula (1) may be the same or different alkyl groups, (b) R1 and R2 are bonded and form a heteroring together with a nitrogen atom and R3 and R4 may be the same or different alkyl groups, or (c) R1, R2, and R3 are bonded and form an aromatic heteroring together with a nitrogen atom, and R4 represents an alkyl group, and the total number of carbons in R1-R4 is not less than 9. In the case of (a), however, the total number of carbons in R1-R4 is not less than 10.
