To obtain a gene encoding a new enzyme catalyzing a sugar- transferring reaction, a recombinant DNA containing the enzyme gene, a transformant having the transfected recombinant DNA, a recombinant enzyme utilizing them, a method for producing the enzyme, and a method for producing a glycoside by using the enzyme.
The gene encodes (a) a protein having the amino acid sequence described in a specific sequence, or (b) a protein having the amino acid sequence in which the deletion, substitution or insertion of one or several amino acids is present in the amino acid sequence (a), and having a sugar-transferring activities. The recombinant DNA containing the gene, the transformant having the transfected recombinant DNA, the recombinant enzyme produced by the transformant and having the sugar-transferring activities, the method for producing the recombinant enzyme having the sugar-transferring activities, comprising culturing the transformant in a medium, and collecting the recombinant enzyme having the sugar-transferring activities from the cultured product, and the method for producing the glycoside involving using the transformant or the recombinant enzyme, are also provided.
