Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a misbinding by stopping a needle swinging between a top dead center and a bottom dead center at the position of the top dead center surely.
SOLUTION: This general-purpose binder is provided with a driving cam mechanism 19 for positioning a needle 6 at a top dead center. The driving cam mechanism 19 is preferably constituted with a disc cam fixed to an interlocking shaft and having a cam groove formed in an outer circumference thereof and a cam roller engageable with and disengaeable from the cam groove. Further, the needle 6 is so arranged as to be swingingly driven within the range between the top dead center and a bottom dead center by pivotably mounting one of ends of a push/pull rod 33 to the disc cam at its eccentric position and pivotably mounting the other end of the rod 33 to a needle drive arm 32. It is advantageous that the push/pull rod 33 for the disc cam and the drive arm 32 are provided in a needle support case 28 provided upright from a working table 7.
