As the general-purpose cell 100 constituting the production system, the one general-purpose cell 100 is constituted by making the minimum required elements for machining a workpiece, namely, a base unit 10 for supporting a robot 60, a parts supply unit 20 for supplying parts of the workpiece to the robot 60, and a machining area 30 extended to the outside of the base unit 10, as a set. The base unit 10 has a square plane shape and movably supports the robot 60 to be used for carrying at least the workpiece on a plane region formed into the square shape. An operation range of the robot 60 is set to a range from the inside of the base unit 10 to the outside in a form including at least a part of the machining area 30.
