Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose press apparatus that is an electric power saving type capable of greatly decrease electric power consumption and further compatible with machining workpieces of various sizes, the press apparatus employing a motor drive system instead of a hydraulic drive.SOLUTION: A vertical motion stroke S of a ram plate 4 is a sum of a stroke S1 and a stroke S2. The stroke S1 is a distance obtained when a ram plate pressing force rod 5 is pushed down by a booster mechanism 10, in a case of performing work of bending by applying a pressing force to a workpiece. An extension by a distance added with the stroke S2 makes it possible to cope with the machining of various size workpieces. The stroke S2 is a vertical movement between the ram plate 4 and an upper die when not actually working. The ram plate 4 and the upper die are moved to return to an original position at a high-speed and in a short time by a crank mechanism 20, with respect to the distance of the stroke S2 between the ram plate 4 and the upper die when not actually working.
