Abstract:
To provide methods and devices for generating pulse-width modulated (PWM) waveforms for radio-frequency (RF) applications.SOLUTION: An RF power generation and delivery system 4200 comprises: a pulse width modulation (PWM) generator 4236 comprising one or more phase-shifting elements 4216, 4218 with the ability to dynamically control the pulse width and phase with respect to a reference signal, and also comprising a waveform combiner 4206 having inputs coupled to outputs of the phase-shifting elements; and a phase-switched tunable impedance network (PSIM-TMN) 4288 that can be configured to modulate, in response to a generated PWM signal, an impedance presented to an output port.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 42
