Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fluctuation in grid frequency by precisely adjusting the output of a generator while optimizing a power generation cost based on an expected value of a total power demand.
SOLUTION: The power controller is provided with a grid monitor which monitors current state of the grid and outputs the amount of power demand, and a generator output optimizer which decides the output of a generator at every specified interval by resolving an evaluation function expression that requires minimum total of power generation cost by considering a demand-supply balance restriction that requires the amount of power demand to be equal to the total of power supply. The generator output optimizer further considers an AFC capacity restriction which is decided based on a speed variation upper limit value of the generator to resolve the evaluation function expression. The evaluation function expression may incorporate a fuel consumption restriction which requires the total output of the objective generator to be equal to a target power consumption amount.
