Abstract:
The device (42) consists of a type of wristlet watch having a face (8) on which a geographical map (14) is represented which is centred on a particular place (notably Mecca). The device (42) includes a pointer (48) for indicating the direction of terrestrial magnetic north and (16) permitting the angular positioning of the map (14) in the general plane of the device (42) corresponding the face (8) plane. Different geographical regions represented on the map (14) are graphically arranged so that points on the regions contours present an angular shift ( OMEGA ) relative to a central reference (22) corresponding to a particular geographical location and to a direction (24), equal to the orthodromy magnetic azimuth passing through any point and the reference point (22) increased by 180 degrees.
