PURPOSE: To hinder crack initiation and propagation by forming a road structure from a two-component composite material, one component being non-woven cloth and the other being woven cloth, knit cloth, laid or grid cloth, or any other sheetlike structure of specific yarn arrangement.
CONSTITUTION: A geotextile for reinforcement of the asphalt layer of a road structure is used to repair a worn bitumen pavement and includes a non-woven cloth of polypropylene, etc., formed from continuous filaments or grid-form cloth made from high strength polyester yarns. Non-woven cloth is inserted between the pavement and the ground surface to hinder crack initiation and propagation, and a buffer effect for delay is generated. The two components of the composite material are formed by the lateral insert raschel method to produce a vertical knit in which the non-woven cloth is reinforced with yarns in several directions, and a rash material such as woven cloth, laid or knit cloth, etc., is accomplished. Thereby crack initiation and propagation can be hindered effectively.
