Abstract:
To provide a germicide coating which does not necessitate a polymer-based biguanide.
A coating composition comprises: (a) one or more kinds of the germicides; (b) one or more kinds of soluble polymers each containing one or more kinds of monomers having one or more pendant heterocyclic rings as polymerization units, the heterocyclic ring having one or more hetero-atoms selected from a group consisting of N, O, S and their combination, the polymer containing no anionic group; and (c) a solvent, wherein the polymer is dissolved in the solvent; the composition does not contain the polymer-based biguanide; and not less than 50 wt.%, based on the whole weight of the germicide, of the germicide is not covalently bonded to any polymer.
