PURPOSE: To provide the subject germicide composition for vegetables containing a specified aralkylamine derivative or its acid-added salt and a germicide compound having a cell division-inhibiting effect, capable of reducing the dosage, free from chemical damage caused thereby and effective against resistant strains also.

CONSTITUTION: A germicide composition containing a compound [e.g. dl-5- chloro-6-methyl-4-(α-ethyl-4-difluoromethoxybenzylamino)pyridine] of the formula (R1 is halogen; R2 and R3 are lower alkyl) or its acid-added salt and a germicide compound (e.g. thiophanate methyl) having a cell division-inhibiting effect by 1:(1-5) weight ratio. The above-mentioned composition is prepared into a form such as powder, emulsion, fine particle, granule, wettable powder, oily dispersion or aerosol and used by application thereof to vegetable foliages, the soil, the surface of water in a paddy field, etc.
