To economically cool a germination chamber by effectively using the outside air, whereas the germination chamber must be regularly kept at a suitable temperature by cooling in a facility for germinating a large amount of barley in the germination chamber.
In this germination facility, the opening of an outside air inlet shutter 7 and a circulating shutter 9 is switched based on an instruction from a control device 16. By switching the opening of the shutters, the air with the lower enthalpy of the circulating air and the outside air is taken more into an air circulating passage 3 when the inlet-side air temperature of a heat exchanger 5 is higher than an outlet-side air set temperature, and the air with the higher enthalpy of the circulating air and the outside air is taken more into the air circulating passage 3 when the inlet-side air temperature of the heat exchanger 5 is lower than the outlet-side air set temperature, whereby the power needed for cooling of the germination chamber 2 can be saved.
