Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent any damage on a cathode ray tube by providing the first getter metal vapor releasing material capable of releasing barium vapor when heating and the second getter metal vapor releasing material capable of releasing titanium vapor when heating. CONSTITUTION: Getter device and system are provided with barium getter 120 giving a high volume to residual gas through the entire operational life of a cathode ray tube 100, and another different titanium getter 122 offering a titanium skin having high adsorptive speed against nitrogen discharged at the first switch-on of a cathode 118. By combining those actions, damages are prevented through the entire life of a cathode ray tube having a cathode liable to discharge nitrogen. By combining useful actions of barium getter and titanium getter together, it is possible to quickly absorb nitrogen at first and thereafter to maintain required grade of vacuum through the entire operational life of the cathode ray tube.
