Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a stomatological composition to be used for inhibiting the destruction of gingival tissue by collagenolytic enzymes; a stomatological composition to be used for inhibiting or ameliorating gingival recession that results from the destruction of gingival tissue by collagenolytic enzymes; and a stomatological composition to be used for inhibiting the production of collagenolytic enzymes due to bacterial infection of periodontal tissue. [Solution] Hinokitiol is added as an active ingredient to compositions to be prepared as any of a gingival tissue destruction inhibiting agent, a gingival recession inhibiting or ameliorating agent, a gingival barrier function enhancing agent, and an inhibiting agent that inhibits collagenolytic enzyme production in periodontal tissue.
