Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass which absorbs ultraviolet light, passes yellow light in a visible light range, and can be used not only for the containers of tungsten.halogen lamps and other high temperature light sources but also for the containers of shield beam incandescent lamps.
SOLUTION: This glass comprises 55-95.7 wt.% (based on each oxide) of SiO2, 0-28 wt.% of B2O%3, 0.3-18 wt.% of Al2O3, 0-4 wt.% of SrO, 0-13 wt.% of BaO, 0-13 wt.% of CaO, 0-8 wt.% of MgO, 0-7.5 wt.% of Na2O, 0-9.5 wt.% of K2O, 0-1.5 wt.% of Li2O, 0-1.5 wt.% of Sb2O3, 0.4-4.5 wt.% of Nd2O3, and 0.1-1 wt.% of CeO2.
