PURPOSE: To provide the glass bottle classifying system which can select and classify automatically and continuously an assembly of collected waste bottles in accordance with a desired selection/classification reference, and can execute exactly and quickly a work for collecting live bottles an collecting unnecessary bottles or defective bottles which become cullet.

CONSTITUTION: The system is provided with an aligning device 11 for setting uniformly the longitudinal direction of glass bottles to the width direction of a carrying belt of a conveyor and aligning them, a classifying device 12 which is provided on the rear stage side of the aligning device 11, and classifies the bottles fed from this aligning device 11 by one piece each by its shape and color, and a controller 13 which is provided between these aligning device 11 and classifying device 12, and adjusts the bottle group converted to a flat layer by the aligning device 11 so as to deliver it exactly one piece each to the classifying device 12.
