Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composition having excellent mechanical strength, heat resistance and dimensional stability, by blending a specific modified polyphenylene ether polymer with an aromatic alkenyl polymer and a compounded rubber-based graft copolymer.

CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. of sum of (A) 20W80wt.% modified polyphenylene ether polymer obtained by reacting a polyphenylene ether polymer with a vinyl monomer (e.g. acrylic acid) containing ≥0.01 carboxyl group or acid anhydride group structure and (B) 15W75wt.% aromatic alkenyl polymer (e.g. polystyrene) and (C) 1W20wt.% compounded rubber-based graft copolymer obtained by subjecting compounded rubber which comprises C1: 10W90wt.% polyorganosiloxa ne compound and C2: 10W90wt.% polyalkyl (meth)acrylate and has a mutually entangled structure and 0.04W0.6μm average particle diameter to graft copolymerization with a vinyl monomer is blended with (D) 5W70wt.% graft glass fibers.
