To obtain such a glass that is suitable for a display of multicolored information and also ensures transparency which is required for an automobile glass considering safety by, forming a coating film having a specified refractive index and specified film thickness on the surface of a glass plate.
A coating film having ≥2.0 refractive index and ≥300nm thickness is formed on the surface of a glass plate 3. By forming the film having ≥300nm thickness, the period of peaks and bottoms in the reflectance curve of the film in the visible ray region can be decreased to such a degree that the film can satisfy the required characteristics reciprocal to each other. By controlling the refractive index of the film 2 to ≥2.0, reflectance in the peak where the reflectance is relatively high can be significantly improved so that information can be clearly displayed. A second coating film having a lower refractive index than that of the glass plate 3 may be formed as a base layer 4 between the coating film 2 and the glass plate 3. The base layer 4 decreases the apparent refractive index of the glass plate 3 and gives the same effect when a coating film having a higher refractive index than that of the real coating film 2 is used.
