Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process capable of producing a large-sized glass lens having a glass coating layer without the occurrence of crack even if cooling time is shortened.
SOLUTION: This process for producing the glass lens is composed of fusing and integrating at least one of the glass layer 3 formed by pressure coating at least one surface of a glass base material 1 with a glass piece 2 to the glass base material 1. The glass transition temp. of the glass constituting the glass layer 3 is lower by ≥40°C than the glass transition temp. of the glass constituting the glass base material 1. In such a case, the difference in the average coefft. of linear expansion between the glass constituting the glass layer 3 and the glass constituting the glass base material 1 and the thickness of the glass layer 3 are so selected that the distortion quantity of the glass base material 1 in the positions of 4mm on the side inner from the outer periphery of the lens and 0.5mm from the boundary between the glass layer 3 and the glass base material 1 attains ≤±20mm/cm.
