Abstract:
PURPOSE: To expand applications in such a manner that inexpensive clear glass can be used in diversified fields.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of the glass is masked exclusive of the parts desired to be coated and an org. metal soln. of an alkoxide system is sprayed in the form of a mist to this surface and the glass is fired at ≥500°C in the air or a paraffin layer is formed partially on the thin film of the metal oxide of the alkoxide system formed on the glass surface and the unnecessary film parts are peeled by a chemical reaction using hydrofluoric acid; thereafter, the paraffin layer is removed after washing and the glass is fired at ≥500°C, by which the thin film of the metal oxide is formed on the glass surface.
