To provide a glass separating method separating glass from a glass element having an adhering member.
The glass separating method comprises a laser irradiating process applying a laser L from the glass side to the adhering member 232 to glass 231 in the glass element 230 to heat an adhering interface K between the glass and the adhering member, and melting the glass near the adhering interface; wherein the glass element 230 is composed of the glass 231 allowing the laser L to pass through, and the adhering member 232 to absorb the laser L and having a melting point higher than that of the glass 231, an adhering member embrittlement process making the adhering member 232 brittle by resolidifying of the glass 231 melted in the laser irradiating process; and a separating process separating the adhering member 232 made to be brittle in the adhering member embrittlement process and the glass 231. By melting and resolidifying of the glass 231, the adhering member 232 facing to the glass 231 is made to be brittle, so that the adhering member 232 is easily separated from the glass 231.
