To provide a glass sheet packing method that can more reliably remove an interleaving paper from a glass sheet stack, and to provide a glass sheet package.
A glass sheet packing method is a method of stacking a plurality of glass sheets 10 by resting the glass sheets against a pallet 20 while interposing interleaving papers 12 between the glass sheets. The glass sheet packing method includes a stacking step and an insertion step. The stacking step stacks the glass sheets 10 so that the interleaving papers 12 have protruding parts 12a protruding upward from upper sides of the glass sheets 10. The insertion step inserts an interleaving paper support member 30 connected to the pallet 20 between the protruding parts 12a of the interleaving papers 12 adjacent along the stacking direction of the glass sheets 10. The interleaving paper support member 30 supports at least a partial range of upper sides of the protruding parts 12a, and supports the protruding parts 12a of the plurality of interleaving papers 12 along the stacking direction of the glass sheets 10.
