Abstract:
A carrier device (11) for a glass substrate (1) comprises: a feeding roll (21) configured to feed a flexible glass substrate (1); a winding roll (41) configured to wind up the glass substrate (1); and a first driving roll (22) arranged between the feeding roll (21) and the winding roll (41) in a carrying direction of the glass substrate (1) and configured to be applied with power for carrying the glass substrate (1). The first driving roll (22) is configured so that a non-contact surface (52) opposite to a contact surface (51) that is in contact with a surface of the first driving roll (22) in the glass substrate (1) is not in contact with the other carrying member (a nip roll (44)) in a state where the glass substrate (1) is in contact with the first driving roll (22). The surface of the first driving roll (22) has maximum height roughness Rz of 0.8 μm or less. Accordingly, the breakage of the glass substrate can be suppressed.
