To provide a glove box capable of always facilitating proper movement for lid opening operations while enhancing the design of an instrument panel.

The glove box 11 comprises a lid 13, a lock device 30 for locking the lid 13 in a closing state, a lock release device 40 for releasing the closing state of the lid 13 and a clearance adjusting member for latching a peripheral edge portion of the lid 13 to adjust a clearance D between an peripheral edge of the lid 13 and a peripheral edge of an opening 12a. The lock device 30 includes an engagement portion 34 moving along the lid 13 and an engagement hole 32 for engaging the engagement portion 34. The lock release device 40 includes an extrusion pin 41 which interlocks with operation of an operation button 21 and protrudes it from the inside to the outside of the engagement hole 32. The front end of the extrusion pin 41 is formed with a tapered surface 44. The tapered surface 44 slides on the peripheral edge of the lid 13 and presses the lid 13 to the outside of the opening 12a.
