To not only enhance ignition property of a fuel but also suppress generation of knock sound by controlling an energization time of a glow plug regardless of individual difference and variation with age of an injector in a diesel engine arranged with the injector and the glow plug.
The glow plug control device for the diesel engine is constituted by detection means 12, 13 for detecting a deviation amount relative to a necessary amount of a fuel injection amount in every injector 5; a learning correction means 23 for making the detected deviation amount as a learning value and increase/reduction-correcting a value of the fuel injection amount based on the leaning value; and a glow plug energization control means 23 for enlarging an ignition promotion action of the glow plug 6 regarding a cylinder set with the learning value so as to increase the fuel injection amount by a learning correction means 23 by a predetermined amount or more.
