Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fracture at a connecting point between a tip coil and a rear-end coil.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a glow plug, the glow plug comprises: a sheath pipe which extends to an axial line direction, and whose tip is closed; a tip coil which is arranged in the sheath pipe, and connected to a tip part of the sheath pipe; and a rear-end coil which is arranged in the sheath pipe, and connected to a rear end part of the tip coil. A main component of the tip coil is tungsten (W) or molybdenum (Mo), and a melting point of the rear-end coil is lower than a melting point of the tip coil. The manufacturing method includes a welding process for welding the rear end part of the tip coil and a tip part of the rear-end coil so that at least a part of the rear-end part of the tip coil is embedded into the tip part of the rear-end coil while being surrounded by the tip part by melting the tip part of the rear-end coil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
