Abstract:
To provide a glow plug realizing a fuse function by preventing breakage of a ceramic heater in the glow plug.
This glow plug 1 has a metallic outer cylinder 8, a heating element 5 composed of conductive ceramic, and electrically connected to the metallic outer cylinder 8 at its negative terminal 5a, the ceramic heater 4 receiving the heating element 5 with a heat-generating part 4a exposed from one end of the metallic outer cylinder 8, and an electrode ejecting line 10 extended from a positive terminal 5b of the heating element 5 through an internal space of the metallic outer cylinder 8, and melted down when excess current over a rated current of the heating element 5 flows therein.
