NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (Ar is aryl; R1 is H or alkyl).

EXAMPLE: 2-Phenylpropionic acid sucrose ester of formul II.

USE: Useful as a compound to mitigate the side effects of profen compounds.

PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be produced by converting the compound of formula III (R2 is H or alkyl) (e.g. 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) with cultured plant cell. The culture of plant is carried out in a conventional medium under conventional condition used in the tissue culture of various plants. The separation and purification of disaccharide glucoside accumulated in callus and medium can be performed by conventional extraction with an alcohol such as methanol.
