Abstract:
A textile machine has a galette thread guide with a hollow cylindrical galette mantle (1) around which the thread moves. The galette rotates on a pivot with a collar with a bearing. The bearing is a radial magnetic bearing with a number of bearing pole windings along and around the pivot. The bearing pole windings are especially distributed in several neighboring bearing planes along the pivot. The magnetic bearings are transposed along and around the pivot in a spiral sequence, singly or in pairs. Each magnetic winding (10) has a sensor monitoring the bearing gap (15) and is linked to a bearing gap control system.
