To provide gold ink printed matter free from a black speck, in regard to the printed matter having a gold ink layer on a base to be printed which is constituted mainly of paper.

The gold ink printed matter 1 has a constitution wherein the gold ink layer 12 containing a brass powder and a protective layer 14 protecting the metallic ink layer 12 are laminated sequentially on the surface of the base 10 to be printed which is constituted mainly of paper. The protective layer 14 is constituted of water-based varnish to which a volatile corrosion inhibitor is added. The volatile corrosion inhibitor is a powder of benzotriazole or tolyltriazole and the amount of addition thereof is 0.3-3.0% to the solid percentage of the water-based varnish.
