To provide a method for efficiently leaching at least copper and gold from copper sulfide ores.
The method for leaching gold comprises steps of: subjecting a gold-containing copper sulfide ore and/or a copper sulfide ore containing gold-bearing silicate ore to leaching of copper until copper grade in the copper sulfide ore reaches ≤7.9%; mixing the resultant gold-containing sulfide ore and/or copper sulfide ore containing gold-bearing silicate ore, in which copper grade is made to ≤7.9%, with a solution in which chlorine ions and ferric ions are dissolved or carrying out mixing in a state where air is blown into a solution containing chlorine ions and iron ions and the iron ions can be made trivalent by oxidation with oxygen in the air; applying stirring while adjusting pH to ≤1.9; and dissolving at least gold into the solution by the oxidizing power of the ferric ions.
