Abstract:
To provide a golf ball which is produced from polymer compositions that contain highly neutralized polymers and blends thereof.
This golf ball comprises a core that consists of a polymer containing an acid group or an acid group neutralized with a salt of the former acid group. The latter organic acid or the salt thereof herein used is present in an amount sufficient to neutralize the polymer by at least about 80%, wherein the core has the first Shore D hardness, a compression no greater than about 80 and a diameter of no less than 3.89 cm (about 1.53 in). It also comprises a cover made of a material having the second Shore D hardness at least 10 points less than the first hardness.
