Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the resilient performance of a golf ball by allowing the evaluation of an energy loss actually generated within the golf ball in the collision by a striking matter. SOLUTION: This method comprising mesh-dividing a golf ball model into a number of elements, inputting the material physical property of the golf ball, performing a simulation assuming the collision of a golf club head to the golf ball, calculating the strain quantity generated in the golf ball model in the collision to output the stress, strain component and joint coordinate value of each element of the golf ball model, calculating the values of ever-changing stress and strain of six components of each element, determining the relation between stress and strain in each component of each element from the values of stress and strain of the six components to calculate the energy loss value of each element, and loading it to visualization software for visualization.
