Title:
GOLF BALL HAVING SPHERICAL SURFACE FORMED WITH PLURAL DIMPLES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2724809
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable a dimple pattern which does not lose its flying characteristics to be formed in a golf ball having a spherical surface formed with plural dimples.
CONSTITUTION: A spherical surface is formed with 8 spherical triangles drawn by three great circle parting lines which do not cross with any dimples. The great circle parting line is formed by projecting the edge of a curved regular octahedron onto the spherical surface. With each triangle partitioned by three section lines extended with an angle of 120 degrees each other making the center of each triangle as a starting point, dimples are arranged within the great circle parting line so that three spherical quadrangles A, B and C having a same dimple pattern each other and each dimple pattern does not make symmetry in its left and right against any verteces extending from the center of the triangle to its summit line.
