Abstract:
SOLUTION: A golf ball is provided, including a core constituted of one-layer or multiple-layers. An outermost layer of the core is formed of a rubber composition including α,β-unsaturated metal carboxylate, and a surrounding layer directly covering the core is formed of a resin composition including, in constitution, a thermoplastic resin including a copolymerization unit of α,β-ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid. When the surface portion of the outermost layer of the core is measured in an infrared absorption spectrum which is based on the ATR method of the FT-IR, a value of A/(A+B) of all or a part of the surface portion is 0.4 or more where A is the height of the absorbance peak of the specific wave number (height of the absorbance peak derived from carboxylic acid) and B is the height of the absorbance peak of the specific wave number (height of the absorbance peak derived from metal carboxylate). A manufacturing method of the golf ball is also provided.EFFECT: The present invention can improve adhesion between a core using rubber as a base material and a cover layer formed of a resin material including a copolymer of α,β-ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid such as an ionomer resin.SELECTED DRAWING: None
