Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a golf ball having a cover composition with superior game characteristics and burst resistance and abrasion resistance. CONSTITUTION: This fold ball has a core and a cover with a mixture of two or more kinds of ionomer resins. Each ionomer resin is a metal (sodium or zinc) salt of a terpolymer of an olefin (ethylene is enough), unsaturated monocarboxylic acid (methacrylic acid is enough) and unsaturated monomer of a acrylic ester class (n-butyl acrylate or isobutyl acrylate is enough) and having about 2,000-15,000psi of bending modulus and the cover has about 35-55 Shore-D hardness.
