Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf cart that never fails to stop with a defined distance by aid of a cart-guarding detecting means when another golf cart or an obstacle approaches from ahead.
SOLUTION: An obstacle or a golf cart approaching from ahead is detected by a cart-guarding detecting means. In the first section, the speed of the cart is reduced as much as possible by drum brake with 100% duty to apply strong braking, for a period to prevent locking of tires. In the second section, after the speed is reduced, the defined brake output of 40% duty is applied for a period of 400 ms after detection of the cart-guarding signal, to gradually reduce the speed. In the third section, the braking power is adjusted to within 0% to 70% duty to offset insufficient reduction of the speed obtained in section 2.
