A golf club 40 having a golf club head 42, which has a face 60 and an aft body 61, is disclosed. The face has a hitting plate 72 and a bouncing area 74. The aft body 61 is composed of a crown 62, a sole 64, and selectively a ribbon 90. The face is made of metal and the aft body 61 is made of a nonmetalic material such as a composite material or a thermoplastic material. The hitting plate 72 has an aspect ratio smaller than 1.7. The hitting plate has a concentrical area, which is thickest at its center 102. The club head 42 is 290 cm3 to 600 cm3 in volume and 165 g to 300 g in mass, and has a hitting plate 4 which has a surface area of 4 to 7.5 square inches. The club head 42 has a reflection coefficient equal to or more than 0.81 at the test conditions stipulated in the 1998-1999 USGA rules 4-1e and an additional rule II.
