To provide a gondola device ascending/descending along a wall surface, which safely and reliably conducts operations when overpassing an uneven part by performing appropriate far and near movement relative to the wall surface while securing stable holding and safe movement.

The gondola device is provided with a gondola (1) suspended and supported so as to be ascendable/descendable along the wall surface (W) of a building by a driving device (3), a support wire (5) stretched along the movement path of the gondola (1) with tensile force, and an engaging means (13) supported on the gondola (1) and making the support wire (5) travelable for engagement and holding. The engaging means (13) is moved to an appropriate far and near position with respect to the wall surface (W) and made fixable. More specifically, supporting bodies (11), whose each one end is turnably supported, are disposed on both sides of the gondola (1), and the engaging means (13) is mounted on the side of the free end of the supporting body (11), which is horizontally turned in order to change the far and near position of the engaging means (13) with respect to the wall surface (W).
