Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a cam unit 4 compact in size, in a cam changeover type variable valve mechanism which externally fits the cam unit 4 to, for example, an intake camshaft 12, and slides a shift pin 51 to an axial line X-direction by making the shift pin engaged with a guide groove 46 which is arranged at an external periphery of the cam unit.SOLUTION: A pair of guide parts 46a, 46b which are bulged so as to oppose each other are arranged at both side faces of a guide groove 46 in a width direction (axial line X-direction), a shift pin 51 is relatively moved to a groove width direction, and a cam unit 4 is slid. The guide groove 46 is split into two pieces in the width direction, the guide part 46a at on side face is arranged at an immovable piece (sleeve 43), and the guide part 46b at the other side face is arranged at a movable piece 44. The movable piece 44 is made to be displaceable to a first position in which the movable piece turns to a front side of a cam rotation direction, and a second position in which the movable piece turns to a reverse rear side, and energized toward the first position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
