PURPOSE: To make the loading and storage of goods effective by alternately shifting right and left each of incoming goods by at least 1/2 of the right-and-left directional width of the goods in accordance with the operation of a switch, so that the goods coming in a row can be automatically aligned in a plurality of rows.

CONSTITUTION: The incoming of a first goods (1) is detected by a switch 2 provided in the right-and-left directional central part of a roller conveyor 1. Thus, a moving piece 3 positioned on the left side is shifted to the right in such a condition that it is in contact with the left side of the goods, thereby the goods (1) is sent forward while being shifted from the central part to the right side. Then, the moving piece 3 is shifted up to the right end of the moving region, and the goods (1) is further sent forward along the conveyor 1. In this case, the moving region of the moving piece 3 has a distance greater than 1/2 of the right-and-left directional width of the incoming goods. Then, the switch 2 detects the incoming of a second goods (2), and in the same way as the goods (1) the goods (2) is sent forward while being shifted to the left side from the central part, and is sent forward on the left side of the goods (1) along the conveyor 1. Accordingly, the goods are alternately aligned in two rows on both the right and left sides.
