Abstract:
To allow a tag information read processing function to be expanded.SOLUTION: A tag reader can be applied to an article management device post-attached to a metallic cabinet sealed against a high frequency and reads tag information only when detecting a closed state of a door. The tag reader comprises a processor which performs: first tag information read processing of supplying power to a plurality of RF-tagged articles existing within a detection object space and reading tag information transmitted from responding RF-tagged articles selectively in time division on the basis of response waves received by a transmission/reception antenna; and second tag information read processing of generating an electric wave gradually varied in output power and output frequency, as a reading electric wave for reading tag information transmitted from a specific RF-tagged article which cannot be read in the first tag information read processing, and causing the generated electric wave to be transmitted from the transmission/reception antenna.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
