Abstract:
Provided are an article management system and an article management method for highly precisely specifying an article disposed in an accommodation space and managing the arrangement of the article. An article management system (1) manages the arrangement of an article in an accommodation space (10) for accommodating articles, wherein: the article management system comprises a sensor device (100) for two-dimensionally detecting pressure and outputting pressure information that indicates the detected pressure, and a management device (200) for storing article information (231) that is information pertaining to the article; and the management device chronologically acquires the pressure information from the sensor device, refers to the article information and the change over time in the acquired pressure information, and specifies an article disposed in the accommodation space.
