Abstract:

PURPOSE: To return oil to an oil pan in an inexpensive structure without affecting appearance of an engine and eliminate mechanical loss, etc., due to oil stirring and also raise oil cooling effect.
CONSTITUTION: An engine 2 for a motorcycle has oil circulation structure for sending oil from an oil pan 6 in a lower portion of a crank case 4 into A cylinder head 10 fixed to an upper end of a cylinder portion 8 through an oil cooler 12 and returning the oil to the oil pan 6 and has a cam chain chamber 14 formed in a wall 8R on right side of the cylinder portion. The oil cooler 12 is disposed in front of the cylinder portion 8 and on the side of the cam chain chamber 14 of the center line C of the cylinder. An oil return path 24 for returning the oil lubricating interior of the cylinder head portion 10 to the oil pan 6 is disposed within a wall 8L on left side of the cylinder portion 8 integrally with the cylinder portion 8.
