To make an article reach a transfer area at timing when a container arrives at the transfer area.SOLUTION: An article transfer system 100 includes: an article conveyance conveyor 110 that sequentially conveys an article 210 supplied one after another to a transfer area 200; a container conveyance device 120 that conveys a container 220 to the transfer area 200; a transfer device 130 for transferring the article 210 from the article conveyance conveyor 110 to the container 220 in a transfer area 200; an adjustment device 140 that adjusts supply timing, which is the timing at which the article 210 is supplied to the article conveyance conveyor 110; and a control device 150 that controls the supply timing of the adjustment device 140 so that the article 210 arrives at the transfer area 200 at the container arrival timing, which is the timing at which the container 220 arrives at the transfer area 200.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
