PURPOSE: To make a sudden acceleration limiting device applicable for also a general purpose Diesel engine, also to eliminate necessity for difficult adjustment of sudden acceleration limiting device.

CONSTITUTION: In this constitution, relating to elastically pressing a control rack 9 of a fuel injection pump 3 to a fuel amount increasing side R by a governor spring 11 through a governor lever 10, the control rack is pressed to a fuel amount decreasing side L by a governor weight 6, to make adjusting tension operable of the governor spring 1 by a governing operating equipment 17. A damper 20 is additionally provided in the governor lever 10, to limit its sudden acceleration swivel in a sudden acceleration operating condition of an engine.
