To provide a governor device of an eccentric-ring shaped and thin passenger transport system installable in a restricted space on the side of the pulley for a belt.
This governor device 11 of the passenger transport system comprises a rotary body 12a, a base 14 installed on the rotary body 12a, and an eccentric ring 13 installed on the base 14 rotatably through a rotating mechanism 14a and having a gravity center at the position eccentric from the rotating center of the rotary body 12a. The base 14 is connected to the eccentric ring 13 by a restoring mechanism 15. The restoring mechanism 15 provides a restoring force to the restoring position to the eccentric ring 13. A restoring stopper 16 restrains the eccentric ring 13 at the restoring position. A detection switch 18 brought into contact with the cam shape 13a of the eccentric ring 13 when the eccentric ring 13 is operated is installed near the eccentric ring 13. A control device 20 stops the passenger transport system by signals from the detection switch 18.
